Are you an individual filmmaker?
Sotomayor Productions forms meaningful partnerships with documentary filmmakers to support the life of a film. From story development to fundraising to distribution support, we provide the tools for filmmakers not only to begin but to complete a film and get it seen. We provide support to filmmakers at different phases of the filmmaking journey. With all of our partnerships, the filmmakers always retain full creative control and all rights to the films.

While filmmakers are still figuring out the characters, stakes, and narrative arc, Sotomayor Productions provides support with storytelling and research. Through consultations, we help filmmakers develop their story outlines, treatments, project timelines, storyboards, pitch decks, budgets, and fundraising materials. We ensure that filmmakers are set with the fundamentals to move into production.
Filmmakers must be in the ideation stage of the filmmaking process. We strive to support filmmakers with a strong sense of story, access to characters, and a passion for the topic. Co-Production is ideal for filmmakers who want comprehensive long-term filmmaking support from development to production to distribution. Sotomayor Productions provides filmmakers with development resources, fundraising, production, and post-production support. Throughout the partnership, Sotomayor Productions will provide editorial feedback and input. All co-produced projects must include the credit: “Co-Production of Sotomayor Productions”

We have spoken at institutions including the University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, Elon University, and Skidmore College.
